Got reminded of this story where the couple only drank water as a preference so they “didn’t see the point” in paying for drink options for their wedding guests and “don’t understand” why their family is mad You can have a dry wedding but have OPTIONS

it’s their wedding, so what if people get pissy about not having drinks? Guests can just bring a drink or whatever if they want other options. Weddings are expensive as shit.

Some venues don’t allow you to bring in outside drinks and if it’s a budget they can downsize the guest list because 150 guests isn’t cheap either. The point of this is a reception is a party, and when you have a party you do need to think about how to keep the guests happy. They can’t just push their water only drinking habits on others because “they don’t see a point”.

Banking on people not showing up is not sound financial advice

Oh I just meant to say as a result of this decision people will be unhappy, like you and not show up.
