my mom is extremely self conscious about using a glp-1 for genuine medical purposes because she doesn’t want people to think she’s using it for vanity :( our society’s so fucked up

i mean it’s a diabetes drug, but realistically losing weight is as easy as eating less and moving more

She has a dead thyroid and the drug was helping her digestive system regulate itself. She’s very thankful for it, but just the stigma around people using it only for vanity is affecting her a lot

i mean glp definitely help wtih quality of life. hypothyroidism is very rare so that really sucks for her

Yeah :/ she’s had the problem for 30+ years and got worse when she was pregnant with me 😭 oops
