Sexuality doesn’t change, just your own understanding of your own sexuality. There are 3 possibilities here with each woman: they are bi, they are just faking a heterosexual relationship, or they were lying about or misunderstanding their sexuality when they said they were lesbian.

You’re referring to sexual fluidity, a phenomenon experienced by bi people. If you’re just gay, just straight, or just asexual, you stay that way. But there are people who didn’t realize that they’re bi who experience sexual fluidity.

anyone can experience sexual fluidity, not just bi people. e.g. aceflux

i feel like saying you stay that way is too rigid.

You’re thinking of it too rigidly like others have said. Sexuality is real, but at the same time it is also just a label people use to describe an internal experience. Like with any definition, it’s up to some interpretation. Some people might feel like they were always bi, but other people might feel their sexuality changed, did a 180 for example. Who are you to say they must all identify as bi?

this ^ queer experiences are fundamentally personal and don’t conform to the boxes we try putting them in

my sexuality has changed quite a few times as i got older and started to understand myself more. Maybe in your own personal experience sexuality doesn’t change for YOU but to speak for everyone is kind of wild

I think the idea of sexual stasis is a well-meaning but ultimately restrictive counter to the idea of conversion therapy
