Heated rivalry is pretty overrated tbh

You’re actually insane. Yes of course there is a lot of sex but I fear you don’t understand the story. Ilya is Russian and being from there he would have never been able to go back if he chose Shane. Which just shows when he did he would choose Shane no matter what. They also both struggle with coming to terms about their feelings for each other which is a big part of it. Shane has also always tried to hide who he was which is gay, especially when he tried to suppress it by being with Rose-

A) There’s plot you just have to actually pay attention in between the sex scenes. They actually chose to not have full frontal nudity as to not make it overly porny and take away from the message B) the show has already inspired change within the hockey community (a traditionally homophobic hypermasculine space) so even if it is overrated it’s influence can’t be discounted

There isn’t really a plot and there is no character development. It is just gay porn and random hockey clips ://

Have you watched it? There is tons of character development. And if you don’t know what the plot is, then you obviously didn’t watch it

I finished it last night. There is literally no plot

Then when he admitted he was gay that is him coming to terms with who he is. Which is a big step.

Girl, you did not watch it correctly if you didn’t get a plot or character development

Thank you! Anyone who actually sat down and watched it would see the plot and character development. I think people who don’t like it just don’t like the fact that there is gay sex and don’t see past that

I could see the argument for character development, but go ahead and explain the plot since you’re persistent there is one. It’s just six episodes of DL men and they come out at the end 😭

I’m insane for thinking a show is overrated? Hmmm

No your insane for thinking it’s just 2 men having sex when it’s not

Are you kidding? They have to overcome the fact that Ilya would not be able to go back to Russia if he came out. Shane is struggling with his own identity because he believes he’ll be shamed for it. They are in rival teams so it creates another conflict. Did you just not watch it?

You are convinced heated rivalry is a good love story when it’s kinda bad. Cmbyn had a very similar premise but much better storytelling and pacing

The tiny semblance of plot that you think the show has is super dry and you have to admit that. The show is about DL men. Been there, seen that. The main appeal of the show is the spicy scenes. Tell me if you took out all of the sex scenes would be the appeal be as big it as is? Right, no. Because the story barely exists.

Omg, if you don’t like it, fine. But don’t say it doesn’t have a plot, a good one at that, just because you don’t like it

I don’t even know what the second show you’re talking about is. You don’t like it, don’t watch it again. But don’t insult it just cause you don’t like it

I also can’t think of a show with this level of popularity where the DL men were the main characters or focused on that much. I’ve seen a few shows where one character is struggling with their sexuality but it’s never the main focus of the show it’s always a side plot

Right! Any other show, the people struggling to come out don’t get the center focus and it’s always one being super confident in their sexuality and the other is scared. We got some of that but they were both keeping it DL
