For context: it’s a baby skin tag ≈>1cm. It’s tiny. But it’s raised so it’s just irritating and weird and uncomfy. It’s above my belly button so it’s not like it’s ugly or super embarrassing, it’s light in color because I’m white & pale, it looks like a freckle. Ik it’s not cancerous bc it’s not oddly shaped or dark or growing. It’s just kinda irritating and always has been:( if anyone has tips pls lmk what I could do

Like 2 years ago I went to the derm to get a mole looked at and they were like “well it doesn’t look bad. Anything else we can take care of for you?” And I had a skin tag under each arm and he was like “yeah I can take those off rn” and it took like 10 mins.

It’s best to go the doctor to get it removed to avoid bleeding, infection, and scarring. Usually dermatologists use liquid nitrogen to freeze it off

I’ve had plenty of moles removed. All of which were done at a dermatologist office. They numbed me and just burned it off haha. Sounds scary but I had no major scarring and regularly applied Neosporin. Had a raised one removed from my face, so I’ve got a slight scar there but not noticeable and best decision of my life (I was like 11 lol), and had one removed from my back, and plan to remove more. There are some areas that are more prone to scarring but with regular care you’ll be fine.

But mine were small like about the size of a pea if not smaller and the base was skinnier than the tip so that may have made them easier to remove. They froze them off

Yeah I def don’t wanna try getting it off at home, I remember when I was a kid I tried once and just started bleeding and hurt myself and was like oh! That’s not supposed to come off I guess 😭😭

That’s what I was thinking but idk I don’t necessarily have a reason to go to a derm other than the skin tag, so I’m just not sure like whattt I should make the appointment for? I know my mom has a derm bc she had pre melanoma so she gets check ups regularly maybe I can finagle my way into joining her at the derm one day LOL
