One of my biggest pet peeves is like improper food safety like in a home. I genuinely get repulsed bc like..wdym you’re leaving cooked food out overnight? Wdym you don’t constantly wash ur hands after handling meat. WHAT DO YOU MEAN.

This is a nitpicky one, but ur cutting or otherwise preparing raw meat on a WOODEN cutting board? You’re using the dish sponge for months without putting it in a HOT dishwasher or replacing it so all that bacteria doesnt breed and stink? Youre “rinsing” dishes you cooked or ate off of and put it back without actually WASHING it???? WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!

yessss. and though theyre pricy, sponge daddies are my favs for this! they last rlly long if u rinse them and squeeze them out after use, and the material doesnt get waterlogged or ruined in the dishwasher at least biwkly. ik not everyone thinks about it but thats one of my big things. u wipe food residue off w the sponge, and then leave it wet at room temp. its an absolute petri dish after a while, especially the super dense ones. the thing u use to clean needs to be clean too‼️

Unfortunately wooden cutting boards are more sanitary than plastic ones because the wood helps kill the bacteria whereas it can grow on the plastic surfaces. In my head that doesn’t make any sense and the wood seems more gross but I can’t argue with science 💔

Wow I always assumed the combo of hot water and dish soap while scrubbing just -neutralizes- any bacteria 😭 I’ve become a germaphobe especially when handling chicken
