I highly highly suggest doing more research (planned parenthood’s website has a lot of info) but the general rule of thumb i was taught is 21 days after sex or a day or 2 after a missed period.

A negative test is definitive 21 days after sex, based on maximum timelines for each step from sex to detectable hCG. You no longer have a routine cycle (if you have one at all), so the other timelines surrounding your period don’t matter.

well yes because birth control stops ovulation, but a “period” is just one phase of the cycle. again, books first busting it open second

genuinely asking how does knowing your cycle relate to this? you cannot track your natural menstrual cycle if you’re on hormonal birth control.

I didn’t assume a hormonal birth control. either way, you should know how long hcg takes to register in the body as a sexually active adult woman
