Honestly it’s easier said than done because I had to change every aspect of my identity and mindset in order to realize how much it was negatively affecting me on a daily basis- I couldn’t sleep at night because it felt like I did something unforgivable and had to repent or something horrible would happen to me.

Agreed, they rely on misogyny and never benefit women. It’s nice to not live in constant fear.

People shit all over Christianity but never use the same energy for Islam that still perpetuate the same hateful beliefs

No I get it to a degree. My dad grew up in a very Catholic family, and he even went to Catholic school. Thankfully he was a pain in the ass and ended up getting kicked out of Catholic school, so he never became a super Catholic like my grandmother

Yeah they defend Islam and claim it’s the most feminist peaceful religion lol, we all know it’s not true. I don’t hate the followers but I am allowed to hate the religion and its ideas that I was forced into.

Oh yes totally same. I don’t hate my grandmother, I just hate her beliefs. Anyone who says that any abrahamic religion is “feminist“ is literally lying out their ass and that pisses me off

Women are killed in these countries and yet they still invalidate their experience and try to cover it up and spread misinformation about the religion to make it seem like it loves women or they say it’s false news.

I’m so grateful that I don’t live in those countries because I would be stoned for voicing my beliefs

It felt like eyes were on me and I was being watched by god with every little action, I cannot express how difficult it was for me at the time and especially because I was still a freaking child.

America’s so fucked up but as a woman I would rather live here than any country run by an ultra religious government. At least we don’t get stoned and can show our hair
