It *almost* never is. Those 3 things have been blamed for pretty much all of my health problems, and the doctors doing it were only right once, out of my 5 unknown ailments.

Then theyโ€™ll help treat that, thatโ€™s why theyโ€™re investigating to find the actual cause instead of jumping to the first thing. If youโ€™re consistently having issues, having a doc who cares is important. Especially for things that might end up being incredibly impactful, like potential infertility, cancer, nerve damage, etc.

Itโ€™s usually best to investigate other likely causes first because something like cancer or other illness is more urgent to diagnose and treat than being overweight. Too many fat people have died from cancer and other urgent conditions because their doctor immediately blamed it on their weight instead of running a proper diagnostic panel

two out of 3 have been ruled out as i no longer have a period and my weight gain was very recent whereas ive had back pain for over 10 years; i can understand why a doctor would investigate those as potential causes but itโ€™s more often they just say โ€œwelp thatโ€™s why, take more aleveโ€
