I just got a new puppy and it’s been a few weeks and now all of a sudden my 3 year old male dog keeps pinning him to the ground or humping him with all his body weight (50lbs vs 12lbs) and I’m sure it’s just a dominance thing but idk what to do. Any tips?

You really have to discourage the behavior. Tell him no and move him off of him. It’s definitely a dominance thing but in your house, you’re top dog and not them

I yell at him every time and throw him outside and he still keeps doing it. And the pup doesn’t understand and just lays there instead of trying to get away

Hmmm maybe try just making your 3 yr old dog lay down and stay there ( like hold him there) might help? Since that’s a more universal way for him to understand you don’t want him exerting dominance over the puppy when you are the one in charge

Rolling him on his back is pretty effective from my experience, that’s what dogs do to show submission mainly

That could work. Haha I should just lay on him
