i pretty much only read x reader fanfics because i don’t care for most ships and i just like to read about my favorite characters. the Reader is its own character, it’s not meant to be actually You. at least from my perspective

okay maybe i don’t know the terminology but i only read fanfics of characters not like famous people. Idk in my head someone just adds a character to a show and then i’m reading it like the character they added has always been a part of the story idk😭 i just don’t like the whole Y/N and first person stuff cause then i feel like im putting myself in the story

That’s totally valid, I don’t know why but when i read in like first person or whatever i can’t help but think it’s me and i don’t like it. Maybe that’s just the ones ive come across. I prefer 3rd oersin

fictional characters / anime characters/ characters from movies or tv shows are fine. bc ur writing about the character being portrayed, not the actor behind the role. real person fiction is when they write about the actual ACTORS playing those characters, REAL PEOPLE behind YOUTUBE channels, or sports players.
