i am still curious on the car situation because i know they can modify cars for people who are missing a limb or paralyzed from waist down but ALL four limbs?

Prosthetic limbs make driving a lot easier in that regard and he still has enough arm length to drive. I know of an armless pilot, too, from my hometown.

to assume an amputee can’t fire a gun without using “their tongue” is pretty ableist if you ask me. they didn’t ask “how modifying a gun for a person with no arms” works. they said “what did he use, his tongue?” as if that’s the only way it could happen. that’s like someone losing weight and then going and saying “oh what did you do, stop stuffing your face with burgers and sweets?”. they’ve assumed to know how that persons life works without having been in that position themselves.

not at all. it’s just not my first assumption when considering someone who lives a completely different life from me. rather, i choose not not make assumptions at all in such cases.
