Fr I hate the texture of certain foods and I just cannot digest it

I tried this new thing yesterday. It’s a Mexican “candy” I guess it’s sweet potato that was fruit flavored. I usually eat sweet potato in fries or chips so I thought it give it a shot. It was gummy and squishy tho like squishy mashed potatoes. I felt bad but if I continued eating it, I would’ve thrown up. There’s some textures that I just can’t handle 😅

not hard at all to understand. if you know your comfort foods & you’re eating you’re good (throw in some healthy foods if possible). i know 3 people like this. i always ask if they want to try something new from my plate or if they wanna stay with their safe foods when we eat.

no matter how many times i tell someone i don’t like cake because of the way it feels in my mouth and they just say “who doesn’t like cake? you’re just being picky, eat it”

i have ARFID and it feels ridiculous to explain to anyone. it’s basically a picky eater disorder i feel like a child because my safe foods are so limited compared to most adults 🥲 went on a date once where he gave me two options, i chose the place i’ve been to before bc ik they had something i would like. he later decided we would go to the other place i never tried before, and i ended up not eating bc i couldn’t find anything i thought i’d truly like 😭
