just learned that there is a male law student at a law school in the US who has very specific, and public, career aspirations to defend men who have committed SA. like, that’s all he wants to do. that’s his brand. that feels very strange to me.

for context: i’m not a defense attorney hater, especially public defenders (they do so much difficult, but positive work) BUT… wanting to become a private defense attorney who only takes paying male clients with claims of SA against them… is interesting. that’s not “i want to defend people” that’s: i am advertising to a certain demographic of people to make money in this “specialty” idek

Ew. Also, as a current law student about to take a criminal law exam tomorrow, laws for SA are TERRIBLE. So many things that should legally be considered SA are not because of how stupid common law and MPC is.
