Ok so quick synopsis: this is Samantha Fulnecky who went viral for getting a TA fired because the TA gave her a zero on a psychological studies paper. The reason being that Samantha wrote a paper using basically zero references and can be summed up by a bunch of points basically written like “God said this so therefore I think this”

Anyways the TA gave her a zero and she ended up appealing the grade very publicly on the grounds of “religious persecution” when in reality the paper was just really bad. But the TA got fired anyways and so OSU (I think this is the right university?) got a lot of fire for it

Unfortunately it’s OU (university of Oklahoma) not OSU (Oklahoma State University) but otherwise you’re absolutely right. Also it didn’t help that the paper was basically “god says trans people are bad!” And the TA was a trans woman

dude wth 😭 im about to see it i can find it and read it. but im about to graduate with a psychology degree and this teacher had every right to give this student a 0. i would have too regardless of my beliefs. references are VERY important in the psychology field and God isn’t a viable source to a psychological study/paper whether someone likes it or not. the only time i have ever studied religion is when death is involved and where certain words rooted from. that’s insane
