Can’t speak much on the full meaning. But as a straight girl they probably relate to the feeling of being a mother’s disappointment. Thats what I could read from it. As for the real meaning I am currently too drunk to figure out atm and just looked up the lyrics on google

For me I sometimes cried listening to it when she sings the part about missing her family in tennessee, bc I also want to move away and would miss my family :(

Okay looking it up it’s about being in a queer space for the first time after moving away. So to branch onto what i mentioned it could be the same thing for straight girls, leaving home and feeling free but knowing you will not be welcome in the eyes of your mother (maybe?)

That’s what I assumed, bc it’s insane to me people don’t know its actual meaning 😭 (it’s about being free to be gay but like freedom to be yourself is something anyone can relate to). It’s just why are you crying your eyes out about a song about being a lesbian 😭😭😭😭😭

I cry my eyes out to queer songs bc I relate to being othered bc I grew up bullies and I’m ND. I know it’s a queer song so I always feel a bit silly. But as a writer and lover of music I think people being able to relate to writing means u did a good job. But i have not personally cried to pink pony club lol

I mean that’s fine and good I just find it a little funny how it’s straight women obsessed with it more than any queer woman I’ve ever met lmao

I also feel the same way. Also it’s not a crying song to me (probably bc I listened to cringe emo nightcore music) I remember one time seeing “songs to sob to recommendations” and Ed Sheran was on there and I was like “who tf cries to Edward?” Apparently a lot of ppl
