they def could, it’d just be a very complicated, very expensive process. IF (and this is a BIG if) individuals could be quarantined at home and we lived in a perfect world where people took public health seriously lol, that would be the ideal situation. unfortunately though i don’t see that happening :/ thankfully the andes strain of hantavirus is not NEARLY as infectious as covid and is also much more stable, meaning mutations will be less common
