working in public health while everyone is freaking out about hantavirus means my family texts me at all hours of the day asking if it’s going to be covid 2.0 😭😭they def could, it’d just be a very complicated, very expensive process. IF (and this is a BIG if) individuals could be quarantined at home and we lived in a perfect world where people took public health seriously lol, that would be the ideal situation. unfortunately though i don’t see that happening :/ thankfully the andes strain of hantavirus is not NEARLY as infectious as covid and is also much more stable, meaning mutations will be less common
