You don’t… because you’re going to cancel those plans and start therapy

You’re moving in with someone you’ve never met in person??? 🚩
23
Anonymous10w
"Now I'm worried" GOOD?? This is the worst possible idea you could ever act on.
13
Anonymous10w
Yall fall for shit like this too easy
13
Anonymous10w
Oh girl
11
Anonymous10w
you gotta be rage baiting why would u ever do that??
11
Anonymous10w
NO NO NO. I know a girl who did something similar (moved to my town to join this couple she had met online) and she didn’t even move in with them but it still ended so badly
8
Anonymous10w
I'm already on your parents' side
8
Anonymous10w
Also I appreciate the advice from you all. I think the rush to get out of my hometown probably blinded me a little bit and unless something happens I’m not gonna do this without meeting him and his parents first. God give me strength 😭😭

Anonymous10w
Okay guys what if I go see him for like a week and it goes well and then I move in? Is that better or what should I do? 😭
-1
Anonymous#310w
How long did you know them?
1
Anonymous#410w
Ah y’all are scaring me 😭
-2
AnonymousOP10w
I didn’t know the girl before (she ended up being my coworker) but I think she had known them online for like a year at least
6
Anonymous#310w
Do not do it girl. We are all reacting so badly because this is a bad idea. I am not saying your boyfriend is a bad boyfriend or person or whatever. But you simply cannot go from online contact only to living with someone
9
AnonymousOP10w
Good. Girl just go visit him this time. Don’t move in.
12
Anonymous#310w
Especially if you have no support system in the place you’re moving! You will end up stuck with him even if you want to break up!
6
Anonymous#510w
I’m not I’m so frl but I’m worried now
1
AnonymousOP10w
lemme ask you this, if a friend of your came to you and said i’m moving away to live with my long distance bf who i’ve never met and you’ve never met what would u tell her?
7
Anonymous#510w
yours*
7
Anonymous#510w
Yes I would be worried for her
9
AnonymousOP10w
I would even go visit multiple times, but that is a wonderful start
6
AnonymousOP10w
if you’d be worried for her you should be worried about yourself too, take caution in these situations
8
Anonymous#310w
How long have yall known each other? Did you meet thru friends online or just randomly? Have you talked with any of his family ever
7
AnonymousOP10w
you need multiple visits at different times times, you coming to him, him coming to you, meeting friends and family, just 1 week isn’t enough
10
Anonymous#310w
Just randomly, we’ve been talking for a year though and no I haven’t spoken to his family and he hasn’t spoken to mine either
-6
Anonymous#510w
I guess but I have no friends where I live and I’m really ready for a fresh start somewhere else where I can make friends and this is such a good opportunity for me.
-4
AnonymousOP10w
In what world do you not expect to incur serious trauma from this?
7
AnonymousOP10w
I get that. I just don’t think there’s enough safeguards in place for you to safely and happily move in with him
9
Anonymousbunniee10w
I SWEAR on my life this isn’t fake like idk if I could convince you but it’s so my real life rn it’s not even funny
1
AnonymousOP10w
Yeah best of luck girl nobody can force you to see how genuinely stupid you sound for this
12
Anonymous#610w
I don’t know guys my parents are literally in the strictest religion in the world and I lost all of my friends bc I left recently and idk what to do I’ve felt so alone here and just need a fresh start and he’s offering that to me idk what to do. I’m so depressed here.

AnonymousOP10w
“I would be worried for a friend if she did this” so what makes you the exception? Don’t be annoying
8
Anonymousbunniee10w
I’m not the exception. I am also worried for myself. Sorry I’m just trying to figure this out.
1
AnonymousOP10w
There are multiple steps to take before you even move to a different place let alone with someone you don’t know. Idc if you’ve talked for a year. Especially a man.
6
AnonymousOP10w
never place yourself in a situation to 100% depend on a man. if he cheats, abuses you, breaks up with you you’ll be shit out of luck if you can’t afford to move yourself back or even leave everything behind and just go home with nothing.
13
Anonymous#510w
I believe my parents would let me come back and it’s my plan to work while I’m living with him and I have money saved up already. We’re both going to be away from family and friends so it’s not like he has a lot and I have nothing, it’s kinda like we both have nothing.
1
AnonymousOP10w
in a way that sounds even worse😭 so it’s possible yall will be struggling??
7
Anonymous#510w
No I don’t mean nothing financially. We have money just not living around friends or family
1
AnonymousOP10w
Okay so that's good context, and I'm sorry. But you need to move out on your own. You're currently replacing one trauma for another imminent trauma and that's not going to help you get better.
6
Anonymous#610w
What’s the upside to moving out on my own vs moving in with him? Like should I be worried he is manipulating me somehow? Or something will go wrong with us?
0
AnonymousOP10w
this is how you end up on dateline, do not do this!!
8
Anonymous#810w
I just texted him about meeting each other’s families before we move in. I hope y’all approve idk what to do 😭
1
AnonymousOP10w
if you meet him and he seems good, move into an apartment in his town or near his town. that way you’re out of your parents circle but not directly relying on him to house you
