If you’re 18 you can get them on your own. And pay cash, after insurance it shouldn’t be expensive and they wouldn’t know

also my anxiety has worsened cus my mom is basically threatening me to get an internship this summer (which yes I’m trying to get) but she’s making it seem like that it’s going to be MY fault if I don’t get accepted into one 😭😭 like there’s only so much I can do and mind u I have to stress about so many other things too so idk I lowkey feel like screaming

but like don’t u have to get referred by a primary care doctor? I also don’t have a car so I feel like it’ll be quite difficult for me to move in silence

You do need to get referred, if possible book an appt for anything else and you can ask them to keep it private. It’s difficult but ik it sucks I was in a very similar situation cause my family is very “mental illness is all in your head” (obviously so let me fix it? Yk)

Talk to your professors if possible, about opportunities

Yeah I think I know what you mean I’ve got a tough household too with never being enough for them. See what you’re able to do, if anything just find a job in that respective field for experience and you can talk to profs or other connections

She should be able to just make an appointment with a psychiatrist. A lot of them don’t require referrals.

Psychiatrists require money. I’m tryna factor in the payment for that assuming they can’t just casually make a payment like that. (Being pocket-watched, not enough money, etc. whatever reason)
