idk if it’s masculine as much as femininity is a performance and im just not interested in it. like there’s nothing ‘masculine’ about not liking makeup/shopping yk? it’s a neutral thing.

I think not caring about feminine things is more neutral, masculine isn’t the default it is a different kind of performance

yes i think that’s right. like i find it annoying how women are automatically expected to put in extraneous effort and money into their appearance and men don’t have to. it just seems so wasteful and frivolous tbh like why is it normalized to spend so much on things like coffee and new clothes and nails and hair and makeup. i like how i look, and i don’t want to do that

yes exactly! i’ve never understood dropping hundreds of dollars on hair/makeup/nails and i hate how it’s become an expectation to do that and people think you’re weird if you don’t

Yes! Like I always feel so left out bc I don’t know anything about make up and my friends in my hometown always like to go to the mall and go to Sephora or ulta or target make up section

I also get accused of being a man on here because of “how I sound” or whatever 🥴

if one more person tells me i should learn “how to do basic makeup” because it’s “unprofessional not to wear makeup” im gonna tweak. what kind of stupid bs is that men never wear makeup to be professional

i always look at the skincare stuff while i’m there (but i never end up buying it bc again, it’s so needlessly expensive and regular stuff from the drugstore does it just as well)

me too but i’m lowkey interested in lingusitics and the concept of “women’s speech” so it’s kind of cool the way that people try to decide whether it’s a boy or girl speaking based on the way they write out words on an anonymous app

I grew up around boys and it kind of affected my speech/sense of humor I’m afraid. I’ve always been masc in general that throughout high school people thought I was either lesbian or a full blown trans man
