when you go to the bathroom, look at the braid sticking out. if there’s blood starting to come down the braid, it’s likely full and the braid is catching what comes out. i agree with the person that said to wear a panty liner/pad, especially in the beginning while you get comfortable with tampons and your flow.

u don’t really know for sure when it’s full, tho if u feel some blood leaking out after a few hours that can be a sign (like the other person said, wear a panty liner if ur nervous, i always wear them on my period w tampons). ofc don’t leave one in longer than 8 hours, i’ve accidentally done that before and im fine but yk not worth the risk, generally 8 hours will have it be full/mostly full anyways unless ur using one with way higher absorbency than u need :)
