Idk I personally wouldn’t invite someone to a place like that for a date but also I don’t think it’s that serious on either side. Like going there for a first date isn’t that big of a deal but also someone not wanting to there for a date isn’t a big deal either and canceling bc of it isn’t a big deal either. Maybe I’m a weirdo, who knows

could be. it’s a problem for me as a vegetarian. like if you pick a place with one shit burger it’s not going to work out. and it’s hard to suggest somewhere else (for any reason) when they start out so cheap because then you look like a greedy bitch

maybe I’m too high maintenance myself LOL but I think I would just expect something nicer given that he has the money to spend on a matchmaker. I’d be cool with a situation like that if he was younger or had less money but at his big age I’d think he was asking me to split the bill and calling me poor

true. I myself would choose a different kind of place and also wouldn’t flat out say no (unless there was no/shitty vegetarian option) but I can understand why she did. I think they just aren’t a good match!

I see it as a big deal only because we know that (since he paid for a matchmaker) he has a lot of money and high standards. he kind of has to play the part and to me that means choosing somewhere a little fancier than a place you or I wouldn’t choose ourselves. I’m honestly surprised everyone here thinks she’s in the wrong but it could be based on age and financial situation

I thought you meant matchmaking like an app not a person who does the service, yeah in that case then it’s different. If I’m paying a matchmaker then I’m making sure it actually goes well.

yeah it’s some lady you pay probably $20k for. and tbh at these prices the restaurant would be the cheapest place with chairs in my neighborhood. which I would think even for an app find means you don’t like me LOL but in this situation it’s just totally mismatched expectations

Yeah no I’d be annoyed if I were her. You can pay 20k for match making but can’t even spend around $40 on food??? I’d lowkey be a bit insulted. Did she have to pay for the service too? If so that just feels like insult to injury
