This is awful, but I want to emphasize that trump cannot touch birth control access within the US. It’s protected by the judicial branch via multiple Supreme Court cases. I’m not saying there’s no chance these could be overturned (rip roe) but we’d have ample warning if anything related were appealed that high. Now, who knows any private or international birth control access groups we could support to fill the gaps this will create?

They are referring to birth control as an agent that facilitates abortion…it reflects their stance on it.

I’m sure they do, but they’d need a relevant case to be appealed to that level first and none are close. It’s not that it can’t happen, just that trump’s recent statements don’t change anything, so there’s no need to panic. Trump can’t touch birth control rights with an executive order or any other executive branch authority.

Are you sure that’s what they actually mean or is that words being put in their mouth? When I read the statement I am thinking plan B and actual abortion drugs. Did they clarify in the original statement?
