tbh i think ppl need to stop commenting on ariana’s body online bc idc if it’s “concerning” nobody’s comments are actually going to do anything. a random twitter stan saying ur worried for her health is not going to save her. if anything it makes it worse

I personally don’t think it’s about body-shaming - it’s about fear. We’ve seen situations in the past, like with Karen Carpenter, where people didn’t speak up because they didn’t want to seem rude, and it ended tragically. Fans bring it up because they care and because they don’t want history to repeat itself. Obviously no one online can ‘save’ her, but ignoring obvious concerns doesn’t feel right either

but the thing is, do you really think this many people “speaking up” all the time is actually helping? because i don’t. our brains are not designed to witness millions of people talk about our appearance. i don’t think not talking about it as much means ignoring it, but when the person themselves is literally asking people to stop talking about their body, shouldn’t people stop? ariana KNOWS what people are saying. at the end of the day she is going to do what she chooses to do

i think we need to trust that her loved ones can try to deal with this. it’s not the internet’s job to talk about her weight for years

I agree that the people in her life are the ones that can actually help her. By no means am I trying to justify the internet over analyzing her body for years because it is very unhealthy; I just meant that the concern people feel is coming from a real place, especially for those of us who have been in similar situations. It is scary to see someone you look up to look more unwell over time. Of course her loved ones should be the ones to guide & help her, but it’s also human nature for fans

… to worry when something feels off. I know she will do what she want at the end of the day but the overall concern is not the same thing as trying to control her / obsess over her weight.

i don’t doubt it’s coming from a good place. i just think intentions ≠ impact and people should really stop at this point. the concern has been stated so everybody doesn’t need to continue to chime in
