what I meant and what hurts most is the erasure. Kurdish suffering is ignored unless it’s convenient, then forgotten again. being constantly left out of conversations doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. it means many people are choosing not to see it.

a lot of people don’t even know Kurds exist, which still surprises me. Kurdish forces fought alongside the united states against ISIS and then were largely forgotten. that disconnect of being relied on then erased really sits with me.
