i think it’s reasonable to expect an explanation, and especially after FIVE YEARS ?!?! he doesn’t need to explain every little detail of why he broke up with her, but a general explanation of what happened is common decency, i feel like

it’s been like two weeks since it happened & all the ex said was “i just need more time i don’t want to keep talking about it” and i do have some insight into the situation but i feel like an explanation is deserved regardless

two things could be happening a) he’s somewhat avoidant and has been planning this for quite a while, possibly years, but is just now pulling the trigger b) he found a new girl and doesn’t want to feel bad for cheating
