My theory: Conservative men are “more open” to dating liberal women because they think they can change & control you. Liberal women know it’s a waste of time & energy to try to reform of a MAGA man or reach common ground.

My hot take on this is that when women pursue someone they know is incompatible, it’s from a place of nurturing and trying to better the other person. When men do it, it’s to dominate and conquer the other person, and force them into submission via changing their morals

Some men have told me it’s cus liberal women are more “feminine” bc they care about things they don’t care about. Like to them it’s normal for a woman to cry about idk incarceration bc of “maternal instincts” this is the weirdest reason I’ve heard and I still don’t understand it

Sadly sometimes they’re successful 🫠 I had a friend who used to be a lot more left-leaning and then she started dating a (tbh kinda emotionally manipulative) conservative man. Now last time I talked to her it was like talking to a complete diff person

So true my recent ex kept his politics very hidden at the beginning and then overtime his conservatism started to show and I got upset bc I felt like he had been lying abt who he was and then he admitted he basically was molding himself to fit what I wanted until he couldn’t do it anymore

Well, I’m a conservative man, and my gf is a conservative woman. Neither one of us try to control each other. Even as conservatives we disagree on many things. Relationships are build on trust, loyalty and hard work. If politics are the main form of a relationship, then the issues are deep rooted.

Also it’s not fucking relevant because your girlfriend is a self-hating loser, sorry, republican

I’m reluctant to even engage with this, but your reply is unproductive for a multitude of reasons. The man thing is the most obvious point, but since your girlfriend is already conservative this post has no application to your situation. We’re not talking about men coexisting with women, we’re talking about men who see liberal women as a project to shape to their liking, rather than pursuing someone who shares core values.

Right - I’m a little confused on how 2 necessarily has insight on that particular dynamic. Maybe he can explain a little?

It makes sense, because liberal woman are 100% more compassionate and empathetic than conservative women. But it also doesn’t make sense, because their party constantly demeans and devalues those traits.

Yeah i feel like it’s just a way of saying liberal women are sensitive. Or that conservative women are headstrong or something

1) you’re a man, you’re not supposed to be engaging on here 2) if she’s conservative too what relevance do either of you have to this post
