As someone from ca the governor, taxes, and costs suck but the weather, beaches, activities, events, etc on average are the best in the U.S.

Even then my home state and the state I live in now (both landlocked) have some of the most beautiful natural scenery and lakes out there. The ocean isn’t everything and I honestly prefer the non-touristy spots I have here over Florida, Cali, North Carolina, etc.

Same, my state is usually considered in the top 5 or 10 of the most beautiful states. Mountains everywhere. Full of ponderosa forests. We just have a different climate than coastal CA so yeah things look different
