“I miss my boy” but he is a fully grown man and you are a fully grown woman. You call him a boy to absolve him of responsibility for hurting you, but he calls you a girl to infantilize you and belittle your capabilities and thoughts.

sometimes I call him my boy and he refers to me as “my girl” as a nickname occasionally but we’re still capable of having a healthy and mature relationship

I agree, often it’s cute and endearing. But you’ll know when it’s no longer cute and when it starts being used to guilt and avoid accountability

In my case he kept insisting that he was “just a boy” when he hurt me and I think that’s ridiculous. He was just as much of an adult age wise as I was — so why is it that I can accept the consequences of my actions but he believes he doesn’t have to?
