Spotting is normal during ovulation. As are cramps.

Ovulation should be happening more than a week before your period, so either your period will be delayed or this is luteal phase bleeding. Either way, it’s completely normal to occasionally spot around ovulation or your luteal phase. There are a lot of hormonal fluctuations happening. If it gets heavy like a regular flow or happens every time, it would be worth following up with a gynecologist about.
