I’m sorry but we do not need to “normalize women staying home.” That’s already normalized. Why are we infantilizing ourselves “my big strong man going to work so I can stay home and play with babies and look pretty. My degree means nothing”

I agree with you. I’m seeing too many “playing with my coloring books while my big strong man makes money” “being a good girl in the blue store so he buys me stuff at the pink store”

Just because something is normalized doesn’t mean you should be putting down on people’s decisions. The tone you’re using when quoting this hypothetical woman is still inherently misogynistic. Feminism is allowing women to make decisions on their own life without judgment

It’s not a hypothetical woman. And idgaf if women stay home. I’m saying if you choose to stay home then don’t act like degrees mean nothing and don’t act like “omg I could never let someone watch my babies while I work.” Women getting an education and working is still so recent and with the rise of alt right ideals came pushing the trad wife lifestyle

Hypothetical as in the quote you made was from a woman who literally doesn’t exist and something you made up to give an example of what some women say. Also someone’s idea of how much their degree is worth has nothing to do with setting women back. Many ppl get jobs in fields that have NOTHING to do w their degree and believe their degree has no worth to them. And someone not wanting anyone else to watch their kids is their decision for their family

Yes 😭 and I’ve been SPECIFICALLY getting a bunch of posts like “women shouldn’t get educations. We shouldn’t work. We need to have babies and stay home with them” like k YOU do that. But don’t tell anyone they woken that you giving birth is more of an accomplishment than their degree

No. I was literally quoting comments I read from real women. I’m not even reading the rest of that bc you’re the one making up hypotheticals just to have an excuse to argue

I’m not having an excuse to argue and I wasn’t making up hypotheticals. I can see you’re now specifically talking about women PUSHING for a stay at home life who actively infantilize themselves. That’s something I couldn’t grasp from your post bc the quote was too general. Instead of what #2 quoted was more apparent
