For me this is very much a human rights and legal/police reform issue. I dont think capital punishment is good in any situation, which would include rapists and genital mutilation. I also think this logic is a very slippery slope. Like look at the current administration and how they talk about undocumented migrants. They call them all rapists so if all rapists were to be castrated we’d probably end up castrating a lot of undocumented immigrants for no reason.

the point is that marginalized groups have been punished through the legal system like… pretty much the whole time it existed. obviously rapists SHOULD be punished but just think for a single and ask yourself if you trust the government to be able to order the rape of an individual. ask yourself what good increasing the punishment for rape would do - as it is rn they already walk free most of the time. my only fear is that making it worse would just cause rapists to kill their victims so they’re

you’re exactly why i made my original comment. you don’t care about victims or making the world safer for us. obviously no one is seriously doing this, but you seemed confused on how the legal system can be rigged to harm people who AREN’T rapists. and considering the convo we were already in i used that as an example. thank you so so much for calling me a bitch though i can really tell you care about victims
