I don’t understand men’s obsession with Freud like as a forensic psych major his theories are so dumb to the point where you have to question how his work is actually published

Having taken a psychoanalytic theory course, he’s actually got some legitimate theories in regards to therapeutic understanding of our behavior. But men aren’t looking at that part, they’re looking at the ‘kids feel they’re in competition with their parents’

Yeah that’s what I’m saying!! His psychoanalytic theory and his theory of personality makes sense but no a child does no fear being castrated by their father bc the father is jealous of the baby AND NO LITTLE GIRLS DO NOT WANT TO BE PREGNANT SO THEY HAVE A PENIS

Also, men will just use psychological “buzz words” to try to seem smart which is probably why they like Freud so much bc some of his theories don’t make sense
