Thank uuu, I’m glad as well. It’s honestly insane how I managed to walk away without a single injury or a mark on my car. I was changing lanes (checked!!) and another person from the next lane was also merging. We both noticed each other at the same exact moment, but I panicked and he didn’t. So I spun out of control trying to avoid hitting him. It’s crazy how following all the rules you’ve been taught can still leave you ending up in a situation like this

I’m ngl it’s pretty hard not to lol. I’ve known since I began driving (7yrs now) that swerving is NOT what you’re supposed to do. Unfortunately, when you’re surprised, it’s extremely difficult to handle your instinctive reaction. I’d like to think I’d be able to handle my instincts better in the future, especially having gone through this, but an instinct is an instinct. It happens in a split second time. Hopefully said instinct has been snuffed out by me nearly dying from it

Hoping your last sentence is true!! It is hard but unfortunately we have to actively work on it esp if we're predetermined to panic
