it doesn’t always happen that they’re so far apart that you give birth at different times, often you just have both of them. Idk maybe I’m just weird but I think it’s kinda cool that it can happen lol.

Not exactly, twins happen when one fertilized egg splits in half. This happens when another egg is released and fertilized after the first one is already implanted/developing on its own. It can be weeks later.

you're about 75%! the splitting of one single egg results in identical twins, while having two fertilized eggs results in fraternal twins! however, you're correct in saying superfetation ≠ twins. the two pregnancies (twin vs. superfetation) hold a number of similarities though!

Dizygotic twins usually are fertilized from the same encounter, in some instances the twins can be fertilized from different encounters and become twins still

most of the time the babies are close enough together that it isn’t a big issue, and survival rate for a baby after 30 wks of pregnancy is in the 90 percents. if there’s other complicating factors then maybe, but generally they’re not far apart enough for it to be a big issue.
