idk why people aren’t more focused on the company itself 😭 like yes she should be held accountable but at the same time she could have been replaced by anyone and the ad would still have been made. ofc she’s much more well known but when that golfing ad came out no one went after the actors, they targeted the company bc they knew it didn’t matter if the actors regretted it

no i understand that and like i said she should be held accountable, and from the general response it seems like she is. but the company was still the one who designed the ad like that and decided to put it out. whats stopping them from just using another actress and putting out something similar if they knew they can just cycle through women and they’re the only ones who will get blamed?

nothing but it wouldn't have brought them as much clout. Like these types of ads arent all that uncommon in the gambling space rn cause they KNOW their target audience down and if it was a smaller actress i doubt that actress wouldve gotten as much hate because we know that she's starting off her career and is just looking for whatever job she can find. i understand why she’s getting hate and again i never said she shouldn’t, i just think some of that should be focused on the company too. regardless if they used a well known actress or not, if they get enough backlash they won’t make ads like this again. it won’t matter what woman they would have used bc they wouldn’t need one at all. bc the ad isn’t being made. it’s just turning into “ugh look what sydney sweeney did” and not “wow it’s really bad this company put out an ad like this”
