Think of it like a cup. Cups can be all different heights, widths, designs, shapes — but volume of the cup is what the clothing size is measuring. Thats why ladies with big bazookas will be a larger dress size, even when the rest of their body doesnt follow suit.

As a bigger girl, you may have body dysmorphia / size blindness I get that a lot

it’s honestly probably a mix of that and the fact i’m super broad, like i’m size 12 but even when I was skinny in high school i was 8-10 because my shoulders and hips are so wide

I get that. Obviously I haven’t seen your body so I can’t say. But I know I’ll see someone my size and be like ‘I’m not that big’ and then see my moms Facebook posts of me and I’m like ‘oh shit’

sometimes I see photos and I’m like oh that’s not that bad? but other times i’m like I LOOK LIKE THAT?? i do wish i could see myself from someone else’s perspective

funny enough this is also kind of how cup sizing for bras works. it’s a ratio of bust to underbust and saying that ur a certain cup size without ur band size means nothing
