A bunch of frats at my school just announced that they’re starting a program where once a year every single frat has to attend a mandatory seminar about consent and how to keep girls safe/intervene if something happens. I think it’s a good step :)

good on effort but consent is something taught since like kindergarten and they’re still probably not gonna listen. it’s so frustrating that we have to infantilize men to get them to know right from wrong meanwhile women are forced to grow up prematurely (out of fear of being assaulted)

unfortunately probably nothing will change unless there’s stricter punishments in place by law for rape but given the state of the country it won’t happen. in the meantime we just need to keep holding them accountable and call their schools/places of work so they don’t get away with it

Absolutely! I do think though that the fact that it was the members themselves who pitched the idea gives me a lot of hope.

heavy on the infantilization while girls and women will continue to bear the brunt long before reaching literal college 🫩
