Like there’s a 24hr thing but that’s a courtesy thing not a rule. “Say goodbye to ur college degrees!!” The school doesn’t give a FUCK

Ok but it’s a respect thing. Just smearing paint over someone else’s work just bc she was being petty is pretty childish. It took a lot less effort to just mind her business. Don’t demand respect if you can’t give it.

It’s a spirit rock. We’re allowed to paint it however we want. Last year a mural that was painted for pride month was defaced & nobody said shit

Ok, and did I say that was ok either? It’s still childish if 100 people do it. I’m not wrong when I say it’s simply a respect thing. These ppl are in college acting like 5 year olds throwing tantrums bc they don’t get their way.

Plus, this statement goes beyond splashing paint and was also in reference to the attached post about whoever urinated on a memorial rock. Again, just straight childish.

I just don’t see the hoopla. They painted a memorial on a rock meant to be painted on then got mad when the rock was painted over. Its like they expected it to be there forever

Sure, but idk immediately painting it over with the intent of getting rid of it asap, that’s the problem. Like i said it’s not like it was a good coverup or message it was just smeared colors. That shows the ill intent. My second point still stands though. It goes beyond scenarios like this with paint and extends to ppl crashing vigils and ripping up stuff that ppl put together. You can’t tell me that that isn’t rude and childish. Let ppl mourn/memorialize the dead in peace. You must agree, no?

I would agree but any memorial that gets put up for black lives or lgbtq lives that have been taken get defaced the same way. If you want respect you have to give it

I personally would never deface a memorial of anyone period just bc I have very strong feelings when it comes to respecting the dead. Like I said it’s easy for people who disagree or don’t like the memorial to just move along with their lives and walk away. I agree that respect is a two way street and you can’t expect respect for one issue when you can’t give it for another issue.
