I’m not trying to start anything, but I mean could it be argued that Kirk was killed atleast in part due to his religious views?

how so his views don’t align with any legit religion instead he uses religion as an excuse to back his extremist views

I think I’ve heard some say Evangelical but I think he went to a Protestant church so I’m not 100% sure either way those fall under Christianity. I think we can atleast say he was aligned with some form of Christianity for sure.

I had heard that. He wasn’t in step with his parents on religion or politics as of late so I wasn’t sure if that kinda was something that changed and he had some resentment possibly. Obviously we still don’t know much from his side aside from his texts. Just was curious.

Ok so say if he did have a falling out religiously/spiritually or if he did build up some resentment for his religion due to Charlie’s perspectives, couldn’t it then classify as a hate crime? Like if he was, for example, angry that Kirk referenced his religion when speaking about LGBT topics?

again i don’t think it’s actual christianity and a twist to excuse their behavior it’s like saying klan member getting killed is a religious hate crime or natives fighting back against colonizers (which they stole and killed in the name of christianity)

not really. his political views may have been based on religion but all evidence suggests he was targeted for his (inherently violent) political views and not for being religious
