Idk if you can get it to stop because our country is so politically right and so politically left that no one is reasonable. I wish I had advice but I know people on both sides and people are too much for me. I just don’t talk politics with anyone. Maybe just ask him to not discuss in public for safety reasons and because it is embarrassing. But there is no way to talk to people and reason anymore so either accept or leave the family, unfortunately. Depends how strong you feel.
