How to I find nice girl friends? I’ve always had trouble making girl-friends because EVERY single time I had a friend who was a girl, they were always so backstabbing and shit talking and passive aggressive. (More in comments.)

I’m not saying girls are mean/evil/snakes, but I think I’m just really bad at picking up if a girl has toxic traits, whereas with a guy I can clock it immediately. Which is why I had mostly guy friends growing up.

But it’s kind of hard for me to make friends who are girls, which is so sad because even though I’m nb, I love girly things like shopping and makeup and dressing up and having girls days and all that, but literally all the girls I’ve tried to be friends with were so toxic. What are some traits I should look out for when making girl friends that I can clock almost immediately?

Cuz with guys, it’s so easy to clock when they’re shitty because they don’t try and hide it. They’ll use the word “females” or call women “bitches” or immediately sexualize me, or they’ll ask if I’ve ever had sex with a woman (because to them I’m a lesbian, so they don’t respect my gender OR my sexuality, I’m bi.) and it’s just so easy to clock them quickly.

But with girls, one of my LEAST favorite traits is shit talking. Like, why are you talking about how fat this one girl is when we’re just trying to have a good time thrift shopping??? I find that a lot of the girl friends I make always gear towards shit talking nicer people, and now all my friends are either nb or guys; but I want more girl friends 😭🙏🏽.
