maybe i’m that one friend who’s too woke but i feel like women getting more botox than men normalizes the idea that women should make no facial expressions and continuously hide their true emotions tldr men get to keep their real faces due to patriarchy

ive found a lot of times, that being “too woke” usually just means being uncomfortably right. this is one of those times.

Mmm I fear this is a reach 💓 It’s really not that deep

i fear that phrase discourages people from critically engaging with oppressive systems but ok god forbid i notice a pattern (especially with men and women in sports broadcasting; the men have wrinkles and faces that move unlike the women)

Girl it’s not a crazy concept that we’re more aware of aesthetics than men are. Were you born yesterday? Stop making yourself seem like a victim and shaming women for doing procedures like that. Women who get Botox, filler, etc. most of the time do it for themselves. Why are you letting yourself be defined by men? Do what makes you happy and stop giving af about shit that doesn’t really exist or matter

Girl just say you value mens’ opinions about your looks and go. Imagine being so performative for men that you can’t even fathom the idea of other women deciding what they wanna do to and with their own bodies and faces. Weird, but hoping you get well soon. Praying you sleep well tonight despite losing your mind over men.

the whole point is that the patriarchy is so built into society that our decisions to do things to please men are UNCONSCIOUS ie people don’t realize why they’re making the decisions they are. i’m not saying that women who get fillers are doing so because all they want to do is please men

i have not been rude or condescending to you once but that is all you have been doing and i fear that you might be too dim to understand this discussion maybe look into some material on feminist theory cause i don’t know how else to explain this to you

i would have been open to a conversation if you had actually brought up a good point but you just talked down to me and said that i care too much about what men think about my appearance 😭 i’m sorry if you have gotten filler and i offended you but idk what else you want me to say

Girl I’m not open to any convo where you make men and their opinions and the main point for why your life is miserable. My bad for the fact I like being a girl and live my life how I want? FYI I don’t have filler but thanks for considering that anyways I guess lol

where did i say i don’t like being a girl? i was just making an observation about society and how (if you don’t live under a rock) you might know that it can be harder to be a woman due to sexism. my life isn’t miserable i just understand that sometimes things really are THAT deep

Okay good night girlypop, I really don’t wish to continue this convo with you any longer. It’s just crazy to me that someone really wracked their brain this hard for some mental gymnastics but of that’s how you’d like to use whatever braincells you have left, be my guest. I refuse to lose any more by engaging with you, sleep well.

still don’t know why my post has you so pressed. if you didn’t agree with it then you could have just moved on with your life 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m not pressed, don’t project onto me. All I’m saying is you’re thinking about something so meaningless as something deep. Not all woke opinions are correct and your opinion is certainly a stretch. Of course there are things in society that cater to men, but to go as far as to say what women choose to do with their bodies is one of those things is simply ignorant asf. Stop living with the idea of men in mind, do you, live for yourself and stop letting them get to you. Stand tf up.

You clearly are pressed though lmao. You’re response was really weirdly defensive/aggressive and you’re essentially trying the case that the structural systems of misogyny that mean women’s social and financial value are tied directly to her looks (not a hot, new, or woke take btw) don’t exist, which is kinda nutty. Hope you find wake up n find peace girl.

Appreciate the psychoanalysis, but I’m actually very at peace. We can disagree without projecting. Hope your day gets better!
