Why is the Coldplay cover of You Only Live Twice so horrendous? I mean Coldplay kinda sucks in general but was Chris Martin drunk or something? The original is just so perfect, that cover feels like an insult.

Seriously! I will admit I enjoy Yellow but that’s more to do with summer camp nostalgia than the band themselves.

Okay I just listened to it and good lord what the hell? Look, I understand that covering 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 Ronnie did would be a monumental task for any singer since Ronnie’s range was unbelievable, but good gravy it’s still bad. Unfortunate as I thought the instrumental was really fun.

Not sure if you want to call it a “cover” or not, but listening to Alfred Molina attempt a New York Jewish accent on the 2004 new broadway cast recording of Fiddler on the Roof was dreadful. Love the guy, great actor, that voice and pronunciation was not in his wheelhouse.

His version of it is just so bad. His accent was all over the place. Also just compared to the Topol or Mostel performances it’s painful.
