Idk for my friend and her boyfriend moved there a year ago and they’re not incredibly depressed 😭 I think the weather matters a lot, if you like that kind of weather and that kind of city go for it but they aren’t finding it easy to make new friends

i did it, fell in love with the place after visiting from the bay area in october 2 yrs in a row. it ended up being a LOT more expensive than i realized, especially since i had a car but i was in SLU, if you move somewhere like fremont or queen anne it’s a lot more doable even if you have to commute. tacoma is more affordable and you can take the train, most of my coworkers did that. overall, if it’s actually in your budget i say give it a go

especially if you can afford to get out of the city on weekends and go hike or something around issaquah. the city really does get depressing for a large chunk of the year (stay up on your vitamin d) but the surrounding areas are so gorgeous, getting out there really helps
