There are very religious people everywhere? Why are we hating on someone for following their faith

Lmao I’m something between someone actively practicing and figuring things out, but for me what solidified even trying religion is that it gives a lot of people a reason to be good and do good things, and to not go insane with all the awful stuff going on, it’s like the best coping mechanism lol

I don’t know one single person that goes to church so meeting a very religious person in their early twenties is just strange to me. Gen z is especially not as religious as prior generations

Following your faith is fine, bible thumping and believing in church propaganda is not. As a victim of the Catholic Church that shit is evil

this!!! personally, huge huge fan of Jesus. love what he did, what he stood for, and what he said. however, i don’t like going to church and i don’t really trust the bible (at least except for the gospels) bc the people that wrote the other books were basically randoms. i don’t like organized religion and i think being “forced” (or forcing yourself) to follow any religious “rules” other than 1. love Jesus and 2. treat every living being with love and respect, is very very culty tbh.

the Jesus part obviously stands for christians/would-be christians, so Jesus and God can be interchangeable for other beliefs

What made me move away from religion is the exact opposite of that. People using their religion and god as an excuse to be a horrible person. Be hateful today and go to church tmr. My family also believes I am the devil.

Oh my god that’s so awful?! I try and focus on the people that aren’t doing that, because God explicitly said that there’s a special place in hell for people who use his name to hurt others, even if I’m not down with everything my specific church says, I just use it as a baseline ngl
