look at the culture of the town/city outside of the school. depending on what youre interested in you can look for different things. i wanted to be able to hike pretty places and ended up in oregon because im like an hour away from the coast and the mountains. you can also look for like a music scene, art scene, look into the programs provided by the public library. some cities have sports leagues you can join so if you play a sport look for a place with a booming league for you
