Need advice. This morning I was half asleep on the couch and watched two women enter my apt door code, open the door, look at me, and then close the door w/o locking it. No knock or follow up. I think they’re office workers so who do I even talk to?

Besides the obvious invasion of privacy and illegal entry, I’m now worried they’ll do it while I’m away, go through my things, and leave the door unlocked. The doors don’t latch well either so they open from the vacuum when the building door opens, and I have cats that could get out.

1st check to see if you received and email/text giving 24 hour notice. If they didn’t you can and should take legal action (if you can afford it). As for who, I would go online on your apartments website and see who you should email about this.

I’m buying a door jamming rod so I can secure it while I’m inside but when I’m gone idk what I can really do besides get a ring camera or something

Already checked, no notice anywhere. They sent an email out 3+ weeks ago saying they’d be doing air filter replacements over the next 2 weeks, but legally they have to give a more narrowed down 48 hours notice (and they were obviously not maintenance workers). They also still haven’t done the air filter
