idk how to explain it properly bc there IS a lot of nuance with this topic but personally i hate framing it as a beautiful experience. it’s called the miracle of life for a reason bc it’s SO incredibly dangerous for both mothers and fetuses and so many things can and do go wrong, and for CENTURIES women have been kept in the dark about what exactly pregnancy/birth/motherhood entails under the guise of it being a ‘beautiful’ experience. like if someone wants to think of it that way for themselves

more power to them but societally as a whole i really think pregnancy and birth should be treated like the life threatening medical event it truly is
