there is historical context to it being used in a demeaning way towards women but obviously i don’t think your father is using it in that way 😭

lol it stems from “birdbrain”, which just means someone’s being dumb. so when somebody’s being stupid over somebody else, typically a woman over a man, she gets called a “bird” ✌🏽

it’s also like a british slang term for women so if you’re american i doubt people will think your dad means it that way either
